The North Jersey Chapter of the Institute of Packaging Professionals (IoPP) is proud to carry forward a legacy that dates back more than six decades—while embracing a name that better reflects its evolving community. Originally founded around 1960 as the Meadowlands Chapter, the group emerged from the New York Chapter of the Society of Packaging and Handling Engineers (SPHE). For years, the “Meadowlands” name served the region well, but as the packaging industry and local demographics changed, it became clear that a new identity was needed.
Recognizing that the “Meadowlands” name no longer held strong recognition among newer professionals in the area, the chapter recently rebranded as the North Jersey IoPP Chapter. Interestingly, while the Central New Jersey-based “New Jersey Chapter” is now defunct, its name still resonates with emerging packaging professionals and students alike. This rebranding aims to both honor the chapter’s deep roots and better connect with the future generation of packaging leaders.
Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming events as the North Jersey IoPP Chapter continues to grow and evolve.
